We would like to share with you our personal view, beliefs and approach about the research that is presented on these pages.
We both value the research of modern science and the many developments that have been discovered.
We also value the depth of wisdom and knowledge of traditional and classical five element acupuncture, which integrates the many aspects of body and mind.
We acknowledge the information gained from research, and we endevaour to use it where appropriate when meeting the needs of an individual who is suffering in health.
We hope later to share more information on the five elements of acupuncture.

The cingulate gyrus lies in the medial aspect of the cortex (just above the corpus callosum) and is part of the limbic system. It receives information from the thalamus and the neocortex and communicates to a particular aspect of the medial temporal lobe called the entorhinal cortex via the cingulum.
Function. It is involved in emotional information, emotional processing, memory and learning which makes it a key area for imbalances of depression and schizophrenia.
In acupuncture MRI research effects are changes are noticed in three distinct areas, anteriorly, mid and posteriorly.
Anteriorly it is said to be involved physically in the autonomic functions of heart rate and blood pressure but also in emotion, decision making, and impulse control. Linking with the prefrontal cortex. And for for processing the emotional experience of pain
Posteriorly it is involved in memory and a significant role in pain. It is also a central point of focus for the 'Default Mode Network'.
