Cert. Supervision and Mentoring

“I was brought up in Surrey and my path into medicine began at Birmingham Medical School where I obtained my degrees in Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1984.

My postgraduate studies in conventional medicine took me into psychiatry, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology being awarded the Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology 1986. Later I went into general practice where I was awarded the certificate of training in general practice in 1988. Subsequently I have gained further experience in the fields of psycho-geriatric medicine, adult psychiatry, obstetrics, hospice care, school medicine, and child and adolescent mental health.

I began my classical acupuncture training at the School of Five Element Acupuncture, London where I gained my Licentiate of Acupuncture in 2005. I continue to develop my skills in acupuncture with supervision and specialist courses at the same time updating my conventional medical knowledge, particularly in the field of psychiatry.

In 2003 my husband and I became the founders and directors of the Beacon Clinic, a centre for integrated medicine.

We have three daughters Katie, Bethaney and Sophie.

I am a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do
